Head Coach- Dan Highstead
Born and raised in Southend, England, Dan grew up playing in the youth system at Hullbridge Sports FC before representing the club at U18 and then the senior team at a semi professional level.
From 2000- 06, Dan was the Girls Director of Coaching at Rio Vista FC in Albuquerque, NM. During his tenure, Rio Vista quickly became the largest and most successful girls program in NM history, dominating the state championships from 2000 -06. Dan was a member of the New Mexico Storm professional Indoor team with the AISL. Dan was also a head coach for the New Mexico ODP for 6 years and placed 2 NM teams in the Region IV ODP championship games. His teams have regularly won or competed in State Cup finals. Dan is currently the Director of Coaching- Seniors for Rush Pikes Peak Soccer Club.
Dan has also been on the Region IV coaching staff for the past 3 years and currently holds his USSF "A" License.
Assistant Coach/ Director of Operations- James Wagenschutz James, who grew up in Michigan and Missouri, started playing soccer at the age of 4 and has played at the youth, high school, club and collegiate club levels. James originally attended the University of Denver where he managed the men’s club soccer team for three years prior to graduating from Colorado State with a B.S. in Exercise and Sport Science. He spent six years working with Outward Bound Wilderness, before becoming involved with the U.S. Soccer Federation where he managed the equipment operations for all U.S. National Teams at the National Training Center in Carson, CA.
James is currently an assistant coach with the Colorado College Men’s Soccer program and the Director of Developmental for Rush Pikes Peak Soccer Club. He holds a USSF ‘C’ License and a National Diploma from the NSCAA. |
